My College Journey
Discovering My Path: From Education to Public Relations
In 2019, I stepped onto the campus of California State University Long Beach as a 17-year-old with a burning desire to make a positive impact on the world. Guided by my love for working with children, I chose to major in Elementary Education. Little did I know that my journey would take unexpected turns, leading me to a different path altogether.

The Freshman Year and Unexpected Challenges
As the year 2020 unfolded, so did the global pandemic. COVID-19 disrupted our lives, and I found myself back in my hometown, completing my second semester remotely. The fall of 2020 marked the beginning of my sophomore year, but it was also a time of personal struggle. My grades plummeted, and I faced challenges that seemed insurmountable. Recognizing the need to prioritize my well-being, I decided to take a leave of absence during the next semester. During this break, I enrolled in online classes at a community college, seeking solace in learning.

Returning to CSULB and the Quest for Passion
In 2021, I returned to California State University Long Beach, where online classes continued to be the norm. My journey in Elementary Education persisted, but doubts crept in. Teaching, once my passion, now felt stifling. The lack of space for creativity and innovation left me feeling adrift. I yearned for something more—a career that would ignite my spirit and allow me to channel my skills and passions.

A Turning Point: Discovering Public Relations
The spring semester of 2023 brought clarity. I realized that teaching wasn’t my true calling. It was during this time that I had a pivotal conversation with my advisor. She introduced me to the world of Public Relations (PR). As she explained the dynamic nature of PR, I felt a spark. Here was a field that combined communication, creativity, and impact—the perfect fit for me.
Embracing the PR Journey
In the fall of 2023, I embarked on my PR journey. The coursework invigorated me. Assignments became exciting challenges, and I eagerly absorbed knowledge about media relations, strategic communication, and brand management. The weight of uncertainty lifted, replaced by a sense of purpose. Public Relations was my compass, guiding me toward a fulfilling career.
The End of the Beginning
Throughout my college career, I have consistently demonstrated a passion for communication, earning a spot on the Dean's List every semester since transitioning into Public Relations. My coursework and work experience has honed my skills in writing, media relations, and strategic communication, giving me a well-rounded understanding of how to craft compelling narratives that engage diverse audiences. I’ve developed a strong aptitude for both creating content and managing media relations, all while working on several group projects that emphasized teamwork and problem-solving in high-pressure environments. Along with the coursework I maintained a serving job where I was also the social media manager all while becoming a publicist at a record label during my final year at CSULB.

As I peer into the future, I am eager to apply my unique writing abilities, media management experience, and love for communication to an organization where I can contribute to the growth of a brand or company. My drive for success and commitment to continuous learning will make me an asset to any team, and I am excited to bring my skills to a dynamic workplace that values creativity and innovation.

More About Me

My Transformative High School Experience
Growing up in Temecula, California, I embarked on a high school journey that would shape my character and ignite my passion for making a difference. As a graduate of Great Oak High School in 2019, I look back on those formative years with gratitude and a sense of purpose.

The Path to “Peer Leaders”
During high school, I cheered alongside spirited teammates, swam and played waterpolo with my aquatic friends, but my heart yearned for more. I sought meaningful connections and opportunities to contribute positively to my school community. That’s when I discovered the “Peer Leaders” class—an exclusive program that required an extensive interview process and enrollment in either the third or fourth year. Eager to be part of something impactful, I joined this class during both my junior and senior years.
Building Community and Spreading Kindness
“Peer Leaders” wasn’t just a class; it was a mission. Our purpose was clear: build community, spread kindness, and raise awareness. Through targeted campaigns, we tackled critical issues on our campus. From anti-bullying initiatives to promoting responsible behavior (including awareness about drinking and driving), we worked tirelessly to create a safer, more compassionate environment.
Touching Lives Beyond Our Campus
Our impact extended beyond the school gates. Regular visits to local elementary schools allowed us to engage with younger students. We hosted kindness assemblies, teaching valuable lessons in empathy and understanding. But perhaps the most powerful experience was “Synergy.” In this vulnerable space, graduating seniors shared their stories, offered apologies, and connected with peers they had spent four years alongside. It was a cathartic moment—a chance to graduate high school with peace of mind and open hearts.
My Role: Marketing, Campaigns, and Compassion
Within the “Peer Leaders” class, I found my niche. As part of the marketing, campaign, and peer buddy department, I wore multiple hats. I orchestrated impactful campaigns, organized events, and served as a friend to those with disabilities, new students, and anyone struggling to find their place. These experiences shaped my understanding of empathy, leadership, and the power of genuine connections.
Crafting, Outdoors, and the DIY Spirit
Beyond the classroom, I’ve always been drawn to creativity. Drawing serves as my sanctuary—a canvas where emotions find expression. When I’m not sketching, you’ll likely find me at the beach, soaking in the sun and saltwater. Traveling, a trait inherited from my mom, fuels my curiosity and broadens my perspective.
And then there’s my unwavering belief in the magic of DIY projects. Whether it’s sewing my own clothes or experimenting with natural dyes, I relish the process. Not only does it save money, but it also unlocks new skills and provides an additional outlet for my creativity.
A Compassionate Journey Continues
As I step into the next chapter of my life, I carry the lessons from “Peer Leaders” and my love for creativity. I’m excited to explore new horizons, contribute to causes that matter, and continue making a positive impact—one DIY project, one drawing, and one act of kindness at a time.
